Day One | Monday

THE ETERNAL WORD

Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.

Psalm 119:89-90 (NIV)

Today, let’s remember that we have an awesome God who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His love is endless, and His Word never fails.

Life is uncertain, and the future feels shaky at best. Plans fail, circumstances change, and the world around us often seems unstable. Yet in the midst of this uncertainty, Psalm 119 reminds us of a rock-solid truth: God’s Word and faithfulness are eternal. Verse 89 declares that God’s Word is eternal and stands firm in the heavens. Unlike our own words, promises or understanding, God’s Word does not shift with time, opinion, or circumstance. It is unchanging, reliable and powerful. We have the very words of God that guide, correct, comfort and sustain us—not for a season, but forever. Verse 90 reminds us that God’s faithfulness extends through all generations. The God who made the world and sustains it continues to be faithful to His people today. Just as He cared for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He cares for us now. His faithfulness is not limited by our failures, doubts, fears or the ever-changing circumstances of life.

I remember a time when almost all of life was unsettling. We had just moved, had young children, a new job, new doctors–there was a swirling, like a tornado. Maybe you can relate. What do you do in those situations? Where do you look for answers and a place to anchor your faith? As pastor and mentor, A.W. Tozer writes, The Word of God is the immovable rock upon which all truth rests; though the earth may change and kingdoms fall, the divine Word stands firm.

Today’s Scripture reminds us that God is faithful. His Word endures even when everything else is uncertain or falls away. The parts of you that feel lost and afraid aren’t barriers to faith; they are invitations to trust God.

APPLICATION: Ground yourself in the eternal Word of God. Write down your favorite passage of Scripture and read it several times throughout the day.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that Your Word is eternal and Your faithfulness never ends. Help me trust You in every season, to lean on Your promises, and to rest in the knowledge that You remain steadfast through all generations. Amen.
